TouchWood, the UK’s leading design, build and installation play company, has appointed Chartered Landscape Architect Alison Brown to its team, to expand its bespoke service to the landscape and design sector.

Alison joins TouchWood as a Landscape Architect and Play Consultant, having specialised in designing and commissioning play for over 13 years.  Alison has worked in several senior roles in local Government in the South and South West. She has extensive experience in developing play spaces for public open space and can also advise on funding options, including Section 106, Lottery and Landfill Tax.

In her new role with TouchWood, Alison will be using her specialist knowledge to provide busy landscape architects and architects with easy access to a selection of high quality, natural play design solutions to be integrated into their design schemes.

TouchWood, which was formed in 2002, now employs 12 members of full-time staff and apprentices. TouchWood’s team has been designing and constructing innovative, highly engineered playgrounds and adventure play areas for schools, councils, retail and leisure complexes and national visitor attractions throughout the UK and Europe.

Commenting on her new role Alison said, “I am delighted to be working with TouchWood who I have admired and worked with on a number of occasions as a client. My new role is focussed on developing new markets. In particular, we have created a specialist service, tailored for Landscape Architects to help speed up and simplify their specifying process. As a Landscape Architect I understand the requirements and specific guidelines required for creating public outdoor play space.  With our talented team at TouchWood, we can provide a range of bespoke or off-the-peg, beautiful and sustainable, natural play concepts, which can be seamlessly integrated into a Landscape Architect’s design scheme.”
