The Eden Project
DISCOVER MORE
Born out of the successful Hobbledown village in Epsom, TouchWood’s design team was asked to create a whole new fantasy play world inspired by a children’s story for the new Hobbledown Heath adventure park. The project was ambitious, with a projected footfall of thousands of visitors every year, and a need for unique and ground-breaking design.
We designed four villages, which have been described as the “wackiest, wildest and most creative adventure playground, with slides, chutes, wheels, levers and a twisty world of madness.” With durability and creativity at the core, we have explored the use of multiple materials and techniques to craft an immersive themed play world, full of kinetic play experiences alongside mind-bending physical and sensory challenges.
We are particularly proud of our living willow tree houses in Wilderness Woods, our 13-metre-tall maze tower in Cribble Creek and our Heath Robinson-esque mining machine in the mining village.
We were also very honoured to have our playground design for Hobbledown Heath be highlighted as a finalist in the 2023 ROSPA Play Value Awards.
