In 2021 TouchWood were invited to be part of the creation of a unique adventure park and zoo. Born out of the successful Hobbledown village in Epsom, TouchWood’s design team were asked to create a whole new fantasy play world inspired by a children’s story to inform the design of the new Hobbledown Heath adventure park. The project was ambitious with a projected footfall of thousands of visitors per annum, and a need for unique and ground-breaking design.
Our design:
We designed four villages, which have been described as the “wackiest, wildest and most creative adventure playground, With slides, chutes, wheels, levers and a twisty world of madness.” With durability and creativity at the core we have explored the use of multiple materials and techniques to craft an immersive themed play world, full of kinetic play experiences alongside mind bending physical and sensory challenges.
Points to highlight:
We are particularly proud of our living willow tree houses in Wilderness Woods, our 13-metre-tall maze tower in Cribble Creek and our Heath Robinson-esque mining machine in the mining village.
We’re always happy to answer any questions you may have about how we work, or offer advice on how best to successfully deliver your project.
