Are you interested in joining a leading design and build company specialising in timber playground equipment? TouchWood Play is searching for General Site Operatives to join our team who create amazing play spaces for top leisure attractions, schools, public parks and more.
At TouchWood Play, we design, build and install unique, natural playgrounds that inspire, challenge and connect children with nature. Since 2002, we’ve created hundreds of play experiences for parks, schools, visitor attractions, trusts, charities and commissions both in the UK and across the world.
TouchWood creates amazing environments where children of all ages can run wild. From zip wires to dens, towers to slides, and epic swings to mud kitchens, our installations appeal to everyone, including parents, carers and community members. Best of all, we strive to make everything as local, sustainable and natural as possible.
As a General Site Operative, you will be an integral part of our Installation and Manufacturing teams and your responsibilities will include, but not be limited, to:
· Assisting with the manufacturing and installation of play equipment
· Manual work, such as erecting play equipment
· Supporting the Site Foreman with organising and undertaking the daily tasks on site
· Adhering to the company health and safety requirements
· Ensuring the site and vehicles are kept clean and tidy
· Ensuring the standards of the site work is continually high
The role of a General Site Operative is varied and would suit someone who has experience working in an outdoor environment in all weather conditions and has some knowledge of landscaping, fencing and groundworks. Experience in woodwork/carpentry would be desirable.
Ideally you will have a full UK driving licence, enjoy manual work and have some skills in using various tools and machinery. You’ll have a willingness to learn and develop your skills, work effectively as part of a team, have excellent timekeeping, a can-do attitude and have excellent attention to detail.
Based in Bristol, you’ll need to be flexible and will be required to work on sites throughout the UK and on occasions overseas for blocks of 2-4 weeks at a time.
We are offering competitive rates of pay, travel and staying away allowance, continuous training and development, transport to sites, company uniform and immediate starts available for the right candidates.
