With the RHS Chelsea Flower Show about to open to the public tomorrow, we’re delighted to unveil the latest natural play project we’ve been working on – a magnificent, playful treehouse which is taking pride of place in the ‘Back to Nature Garden’ at Chelsea 2019.
This stunning bespoke treehouse was created using a 200-year-old fallen oak tree which our highly skilled team have transformed into a magnificent centrepiece for one of the top Show Gardens at this year’s prestigious Flower Show.
Designed to evoke the experience of coming across a giant nest in a woodland setting, the unique treehouse includes a natural ladder, swing and viewing platform and combines several different locally sourced woods, including larch, stag oak and hazel.
The tree house features in the RHS Back to Nature Garden which was designed by The Duchess of Cambridge with Andrée Davies and Adam White. Inspired by childhood memories and with families in mind, the woodland garden provides a place to retreat from the world, to play, learn and discover as well as create special family memories.
The tree house is the centrepiece of the garden, which is wowing visitors at RHS Chelsea Flower Show this week. It was constructed from the trunk of an ancient oak tree which was rescued by TouchWood from Ledbury in Herefordshire.
TouchWood’s highly skilled woodcraft team provided many hours of work to create the tree house which combines the oak trunk with additional woods of larch, stag oak and hazel, sourced from Westonbirt, The National Arboretum, to create this totally unique piece.
The tree house feature weighs 8 tonnes and was designed and built at our Bristol woodyard using carefully constructed hidden supports, so that it could be lifted and transported by lorry to Chelsea in one piece.

We are also passionate about creating beautiful environments like this Garden depicts, that complement their surroundings and that children, their parents, grand-parents and carers, will want to spend time in together.”
